Reminiscing about the future

A fifteen minute exercise in realism and optimism (some explicit language)

I don’t like to mention the P word. I’ve written thousands of words for my New Wild Order book and managed to keep any mention the pandemic to a minimum. I mean, for some it was terrible. Can’t say I had the greatest time.

But here I am, using it. Well, do you remember the good bits? Those few moments in the opening stages when the din of modernity was quiet enough for us to hear ourselves. When we could hear the birdsong, smell the flowers. When our senses returned to us.

Well, what if there were successive pandemics, it’s more likely than not. We’ve not changed our ways since the last one - not really. What then for us?

What about wars and AI. You have to admit, we are in a funny spot right now. However, I remain optomisitic (and a little realistic). Perhaps, it might end well. This was recorded a while ago, it’s me reminiscing about our possible future.

Thank you for listening. This post is going to stay free for a while so if you liked it please do share it. Thank you my friend.
